Eric Ciotti expresses his deep emotion and has extended his full support to the Italian people affected by this terrible natural disaster. The Alpes-Maritimes Department is ready to integrate rescue efforts if necessary.
It is the department’s president who explains the procedure: “In my capacity as President of the Board of Directors of SDIS 06, I have immediately requested Colonel Alain JARDINET, departmental director, to pre-form a specialized reinforcement column for rescue and clearing operations so that it is ready to join the disaster site if the Italian authorities express the need for it.
Thus, 17 specialized firefighters from SDIS 06, equipped with two rescue dogs for debris, drilling equipment, cutting tools, listening devices, and rescue gear, are on standby from today to provide all necessary assistance to the Italian rescuers.”
