Eco-actions: Practical and Ecological Actions to Preserve the Mediterranean.

Latest News

Committed to a policy focused on sustainable development and environmental preservation, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis has been supporting the “Ecogestes Mรฉditerranรฉe” campaign since 2011.

This initiative works towards the preservation of the sea and the coastline through awareness-raising actions for sea users.

It mobilizes 15 environmental education and habitat management organizations along the coast, from Cap d’Ail in the Alpes Maritimes to Martigues in the Bouches du Rhรดne, to directly engage with boaters at sea.

The objective is to promote practical and ecological actions to preserve the Mediterranean. The ambassadors organize outings at sea throughout the summer to engage with boaters about their practices and the actions to adopt for more “sustainable” boating.

The themes addressed by the Ecogestes campaigns include fishing and spearfishing, the management of grey and black water, macro-waste, cleaning, hydrocarbons, anchoring, and more.

In the territory of the Metropolis and as part of the Baie d’Azur and Natura 2000 in Sea contracts, Cap Ferrat site, the associative structures mobilized for the Ecogestes campaign are: the Marine World Discovery Center (CDMM) and SOS Grand Bleu. They intervene by boat or kayak along the coastline, particularly at the Natura 2000 site at sea off Cap Ferrat.
