Economy: The “patriots” choose tax exile

Latest News

According to figures from the Ministry of Finance, the number of taxpayers with incomes exceeding 100,000 euros who are leaving France to settle abroad is increasing. In 2014, these tax exiles increased by 10%.

They were 4,100 to leave France in 2014 compared to 3,744 the previous year. An increase over the years that puts into perspective the triumphant announcement from Bercy about the slowdown since 2012.

Conversely, Bercyโ€™s data shows that the departures of the wealthiest taxpayers, within this group, slowed between 2013 and 2014, with only 589 households earning 300,000 euros or more leaving the country in 2014, compared to 659 a year earlier.

The departures concern nearly 1% of the wealthiest taxpayers. In 2014, France lost 127 households with incomes exceeding 700,000 euros, as stated in the same report.
