Unemployment experienced its sharpest increase since 2013 in October, with 42,000 more unemployed job seekers without activity than in September in mainland France, for a total of 3.59 million (+1.2%).
The decline in September (-23,800 unemployed), which had raised hopes for better results, was short-lived.
The minister also highlights the fact that growth is slightly picking up (+0.3% in the third quarter) but is proving too weak to result in a lasting decrease in unemployment, given the faster growth of our active population.
The number of job seekers, 69,822 people, varies in October compared to the end of September by +1.6% in the Alpes-Maritimes (an increase of 4.8% over one year).
