The Ecologists have just elected Jeanne THIEMONGE and Laurent LANQUAR-CASTIEL as a gender-balanced (F/H) and complementary duo of departmental ‘co-secretaries’. Indeed, the committee responsible for leading Europe-รcologie-Les-Verts (EELV) in the Alpes Maritimes has just been renewed.
This renewal marks the improvement of visibility for citizens and territorial representation of the ecologists, who are now organized into 5 ‘local groups’ (Pays Grassois and Cannois, Antibes-Sophia-Antipolis, Pays de la Cagne and du Var, Pays Niรงois and Est 06).
Jeanne THIEMONGE sets the goal of “rebuilding political ecology in the department, relying on a growing ecological awareness like the ‘eco cafes’ of the Pom’รฉcolo association or actions closer to the daily life of all citizens.”
Laurent LANQUAR-CASTIEL represents the generational change โ those who have only known the ‘crisis’. An engineer-architect-urban planner, he wishes to embody “credibility, through a solutions-oriented ecology.” As more than two-thirds of the French think*,
LANQUAR-CASTIEL declares that “the solutions to social, environmental, and economic crises lie in sustainable development; this is why we have the duty and responsibility to propose ecological, concrete, and pragmatic solutions that resonate with everyone.”
