“Eggs, Riddles and Chocolate” at the Heart of National Monuments

For Easter, the National Monuments Center invites both young and old to participate in treasure hunts across 53 castles, fortresses, archaeological sites, and gardens. On this occasion, children from 5 to 12 years old and their families can visit the monuments in a fun and original way while (re)discovering the Easter holiday.


On the program for Sunday, March 31, 2013: search for clues, solve riddles related to History, architecture, and the great figures who lived in these places. A reward awaits all participants: chocolate eggs!

Archaeological Site of Glanum

To be done as a family where the little ones question the grown-ups to discover together the ancient city and the name of a precious object that was discovered in Glanum a few years ago…

Thoronet Abbey

Fun course exploring the abbey. Children must solve several riddles.

Saorge Monastery

A game-themed booklet about bells is distributed to children, allowing them to follow a path through the monument and garden, based on observation games, clues to find, and riddles to solve.

Cloister of Fréjus Cathedral

Cardboard eggs are placed along the visit path. Each egg corresponds to a question in the form of a riddle that the children, assisted by their parents, must answer on a sheet given at the beginning of the visit.

Abbey of Montmajour

Following in the footsteps of the monks of Montmajour, historical treasure hunt open to 6 to 12-year-olds. The little ones are not forgotten with a hunt for colorful eggs.
