End of the electoral campaign for Marine Brenier who, next Sunday, will succeed Christian Estrosi in the seat of deputy for the 5th constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes.
The LR candidate ultimately did not accept the challenge posed by her competitor, the Frontist Michel Brutti, who demanded a public debate. With a considerable advantage, Marine Brenier responded with a firm rejection. A flawless tactical choice.
The only uncertainty regarding the result of the second round is related to the number of voters who will go to the polls. After the low turnout in the first round (23.3%), will there be a further decline in voters?
Apart from the electoral regulations, what legitimacy can one have when elected by an ultra-minority?
Marine Brenier met with her supporters for the last time in a hotel room in the city center. An opportunity to demonstrate the strength of a political organization that completely locks down the territory: 28 out of 28 mayors belong to her party.
Amidst thanks and applause, the young candidate laid out her campaign arguments, which unfortunately are not original: the “youth of ideas” (more “in continuity”) is not about inscrutably repeating what Christian Estrosi said a few minutes earlier, unless she wants to appear as his proxy at the National Assembly, nor about announcing future security law proposals that have already been presented by… Eric Ciotti.
Marine Brenier already has enough experience to fly with her own wings and show that she truly represents the “hope of the future.”
Fly, dove…
