On Friday, September 2, 2011, at 3 PM at the Place du Palais in the Principality of Monaco, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and Christian Estrosi, Deputy, Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur, who will be arriving at the Rocher in an Auto Bleue, Véronique Paquis, Deputy Delegate for the Environment, Sustainable Development, Research, and New Technologies, and Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Government Counselor for Public Works, the Environment, and Urban Planning, will detail the provisions of this partnership.
In line with its environmentally friendly mobility strategy, Nice Côte d’Azur launched the Auto Bleue service in the spring of 2011, allowing access to shared electric vehicles.
Eventually, 210 electric vehicles will be distributed throughout the Nice Côte d’Azur territory, with a total of 70 stations.
For years, the Principality has developed a policy supporting electric vehicles. To date, nearly 350 electric vehicles, both two and four-wheeled, are registered in Monaco.
They benefit from over 400 charging stations in public parking lots and, more recently, two fast-charging installations on public roads.
Eager to promote the development of clean mobility on the Côte d’Azur, the Principality of Monaco and Nice Côte d’Azur have joined forces to facilitate the use of electric vehicles in their territories.
In practice, this results in:
– The creation of an identification sticker for electric vehicles for residents of the Principality of Monaco or the Nice Côte d’Azur region, allowing them to benefit from advantages;
– Access to charging stations: subscribers of a parking lot in Monaco will be able to charge their electric vehicle batteries at Nice charging stations, and vice versa, customers renting “auto bleue” vehicles will be able to recharge in Monaco’s parking lots.
