elephants_hommes.jpg For more than six months, Jean-Franรงois Mutzig followed the trail of elephants and their mahouts in Sri Lanka, Thailand, on the Burmese border, in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos, to highlight, in a moving report, their livelihoods.

Outlining the portrait of this mythical animal, reputed to be docile and intelligent, and understanding it in all its facets to help know it better, is the aim of Jean-Franรงois Mutzig’s photographic work, which has collected thousands of images of the animal.

Jean-Franรงois Mutzig began his vocation in Lille, his hometown, where he learned the trade at the School of Photography. In 1993, he joined the “Biosphoto” agency, specializing in nature and environmental themes, for the distribution of his photography.

Since then, Jean-Franรงois Mutzig has been interested in the evolution of the current world and its cultural or environmental consequences.
