Elliot Grandin, a former player of Grenoble, Caen, and Marseille is reportedly very close to signing with OGC Nice. In search of a right forward, the club had already made a first offer to Blackpool (English D2 club) which was rejected for a few thousand euros. The club from the French Riviera has since made a new offer that should satisfy the English club this time. The player is therefore very close to signing a contract with the Nice club in the form of a paid loan.

A player who knows Ligue 1

The former 24-year-old promising winger is well acquainted with the French championship, having played there for five seasons. First with Caen, where he scored about ten goals, then with Olympique de Marseille where in 23 matches, the forward scored three goals. Loaned to Grenoble without a purchase option during the winter 2009 transfer window, the man no longer fit into the plans of Eric Gerets, the manager of OM at the time. After a lackluster half-season in Isรจre, the former Caen player terminated his contract with Marseille and signed with CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria. In August 2010, he signed with the English club Blackpool which had just been promoted to the Premier League… but was relegated to D2 the same year. With his contract ending next June, he has recovered well from a foot injury. Having recently made good appearances, Grandin now hopes that this will not convince the English club Blackpool to retain himโ€ฆ
