For her 5th place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the CNN thanked its athlete yesterday for her extraordinary final.
The club house was packed. Everyone had come to welcome “the champion.” Elodie Ravera was eagerly awaited.
This athlete, who started her career at the age of thirteen, immediately stood out from other rowers in competitions. A strength she acquired thanks to her steely mindset. Her coach Patrick explains, “At each competition, she manages to get into her zone, to elevate herself to overcome others.”
She dreamed of these Olympic Games, and she succeeded, along with her partner Hรฉlรจne Lefebvre, in reaching the final. It was a challenging final to compete in. “The opponents were more physical and taller, and the conditions were not favorable, the main goal was to reach the final, we didn’t finish last, so we are happy,” explains Elodie Ravera.
The Nice Nautical Club is also a very good training club with athletes of a very high level. “Elodie is the tip of the pyramid, but there are many others behind her.” From generation to generation, as the Ravera brother is also a very good rower.
A very enduring club as well, since she is the fourth member of the nautical club to compete in the Olympic Games. However, she is the first girl to have participated.*
But the club hopes to go even further and would like “projects to be created and come to fruition because where we are is an ideal playground, we need to think about new proposals.”
