Christian Estrosi decides to implement, with the City of Nice and its Communal Center for Social Action, an emergency plan for people without stable housing. With the significant drop in winter temperatures, the Mayor has decided to respond accordingly.
With the drastic drop in temperatures, winter is particularly harsh on people without stable housing. This is why Christian Estrosi wants the City of Nice and its Communal Center for Social Action to open the El Nouzah site starting tomorrow, Thursday, December 15th, to welcome and protect homeless people. This site is specifically designed to meet the urgent housing needs during these difficult climate periods, allowing the homeless to benefit from a secure place where they can shelter from the cold, all in a warm and friendly setting.
The El Nouzah site is located near the Day Reception Center of the VXe Corps, thus providing support and social assistance by the day reception teams. The site has a capacity of 38 places, exclusively for men. Indeed, the provision is largely sufficient and suitable for women in the various facilities of the city. Many services are offered to those accommodated: hot soup, snacks, breakfast, listening, and comfort. The site will remain open every day as needed during the winter period.
Social SAMU: The launch of the 2nd sleeping bag collection
The Social SAMU Nice of the Mut’ is launching this new operation in partnership with a collective of 11 dry cleaners in the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var. The Social SAMU of the French Red Cross operating in Nice proposes for the second time a new collection of sleeping bags for the homeless. Last year, no less than 52 sleeping bags were collected. You can donate your sleeping bags by dropping them off at partner dry cleaners until March 31, 2023. You are thus committed to cleaning, packaging, and delivering them to social partners.
