Emmanuel Ethis (Rector of the Academy): “Do not let any inequality persist”

The academic project structures and clarifies the educational policy within the Academy of Nice and was presented by Emmanuel Ethis, the rector of the Academy of Nice.

It aims to offer the different stakeholders of the School a comprehensive overview of the major academic priorities and to implement these within classrooms to benefit both teachers and students.

This 2015/2019 project continues from the previous academic project (2010/2014) and builds upon the progress made during that period.

Emmanuel Ethis, the rector of the Academy of Nice, invites everyone to share and bring this project to life with the sole objective of ensuring the success of all students, guided by Condorcet’s idea that we must not “allow any inequality that leads to dependency.”

This new academic project sets the priorities for the Academy of Nice to promote the success of all students and all students in the Alpes-Maritimes (and the Var) for the 2015/2019 period.

It aligns with the July 2013 laws concerning the rebuilding of the school of the Republic and Higher Education and Research.

For the first time, this project expresses common priorities for the academies of Nice and Aix-Marseille, grouped into three priority action areas:

  • Better training for better school success
  • Better reception to ensure equity

  • Encourage a better opening of the school

Beyond the educational community, this academic project should allow a better understanding of the actions of the Academy of Nice by all school partners: parents, local authorities, the associative sector, and the actors of the economic and social world. The relationship with parents is a priority. It must be part of a genuine co-education approach.

Similarly, local authorities play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of the educational system. These effective and constructive partnerships need to be further reinforced to serve the success of the students.

The educational community and school partners now need to work together to build the actions to be implemented over the next four years.
