Latest News

The French economy recorded a sixth consecutive quarter of net job creation in the private sector, with 52,200 new positions (+0.3%) in the third quarter, according to an estimate by Insee published this Thursday.

This is an unprecedented performance since the 2008 crisis. The sector had not created as many jobs in a quarter since the third quarter of 2007.

Over the past year, the private non-agricultural sector created 145,100 salaried jobs (+0.9%), reaching 16.07 million positions, a level not seen since the third quarter of 2011.

The positive employment figures for the quarter align with other economic indicators, as growth has resumed (+0.2%) and unemployment, as measured by Pôle emploi, has decreased by 35,200 people (−1%). This indicator mainly concerns salaried positions in the private non-agricultural sector.
