End of free parking in a district of West Nice

Latest News

A measure concerning the end of free parking in a neighborhood of Nice West is expected to be adopted at the next city council meeting on December 10.

In Saint Isidore, parking will become paid on Pierre-de-Coubertin, Auguste-Vérola, and Angélique-Braquet streets. The rates will be the same as in the city center: the first half-hour is free (one hour on Saturdays), then it will cost €1.30 per hour. The resident subscription will be €17 per month.

Thus, 140 parking spaces in the Saint Isidore neighborhood will become paid. However, 20 spaces on Avenue Auguste-Vérola will not be available at the resident rate.

Making parking in this neighborhood paid will allow for better vehicle rotation. This facilitates “smart shopping,” makes the area more attractive, and supports small businesses.

According to Maurice Tornesi, president of the Saint Isidore neighborhood committee, the installation of parking meters in this neighborhood is “a strong demand from the merchants.”
