In the context of its policy for integrating people with disabilities, the City of Nice organizes annual adapted sports and recreational events at the beginning of June.

The City of Nice Celebrates Inclusion Through Adapted Sports Activities for People with Disabilities

This event, organized yearly by the City of Nice, is a special occasion aimed at highlighting individuals with disabilities through adapted sports practice. For four days, approximately 780 children and adults from specialized metropolitan institutions will participate in over thirty different workshops.

The main objective of this event is to enable participants to discover new activities with others, creating a sense of camaraderie and sharing. By uniting the energies and skills of everyone, including the professionals who accompany them, this collective action aims to highlight individuals with disabilities and go beyond the notion of disability itself. Regardless of performance level, the emphasis is on the joy of practicing and sharing.

Thus, this Thursday, June 1st, the 185 registered participants will enthusiastically take part in the workshops offered at the Nice Mercantour Sports Complex: tennis, padel, rugby, football, basketball, torball, zumba, dance, yoga, and taekwondo. These ten sports activities will provide each participant the opportunity to boost their self-confidence, to excel, or simply to have fun in a great collective momentum.

Jacques Dejeandile, Municipal Councilor for Disability and an Accessible and Inclusive City, will also be present this Thursday at 2:00 PM to demonstrate the City of Nice’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility for all.
