Eric Ciotti, the deputy for Alpes Maritimes from the Republican party (LR), is entering the race for the right-wing primary. And potentially in the running for the 2022 presidential election.
I am a candidate in the right-wing primary for the presidential election.
I want to halt France’s decline and give hope back to the French people.

This Thursday, after Valérie Pécresse and Philippe Juvin, it is Éric Ciotti’s turn to announce his candidacy to represent the right in the upcoming presidential elections. Having supported his colleagues in the past, today Eric Ciotti states he is ready to enter the presidential race.
« Yes, I will be a candidate in the right-wing primary, to designate our candidate, a common candidate, to pull our country out of the descent into decline. I want to be a candidate to carry right-wing ideas. My course is on the right, and my objective is simple: for France to remain France. » shared the LR deputy on BFM TV.
« I am on the right, and I do not apologize for it. » Among his proposals, Éric Ciotti wants to toughen immigration policies. He wishes « to move away from birthright citizenship in favor of bloodright citizenship, as the French soul is eroding in the face of migratory submersion. »
He also proposes «to include our Christian origins in the Constitution,» to raise the retirement age to 65, and to reinstate a 39-hour working week.
