The romantic comedy “Magic in the Moonlight” by the renowned Woody Allen was released yesterday in theaters nationwide. Shot on the French Riviera, the American filmmaker captures the beauty of the French Riviera in this film shot between Menton, Nice, and Juan-les-Pins.
Matthieu RUBIN and Raphaël BENOLIEL, two former students of ESRA, were chosen to be the production manager and co-producer, respectively, for Woody Allen’s latest film.
More than twenty former students of ESRA Côte d’Azur and several current interns have also taken on responsibilities within the different departments of the technical team.
With this film, ESRA demonstrates the professionalism and quality of its programs; enabling it to be the leading school today for careers in Cinema & Television, Sound, and Animated Film.
Woody Allen’s production chose to collaborate with ESRA students, known for the quality of their work and knowledge of film techniques. Thus, about twenty former and current students of ESRA Côte d’Azur participated in the making of this film.
Matthieu RUBIN, who completed all his education at ESRA, choosing the cinema directing option, and Raphaël BENOLIEL, who started his studies at ESRA Côte d’Azur, were particularly noticed by Woody Allen.
Both had already collaborated with the director in 2011 on the filming of “Midnight in Paris,” initially ensuring executive production before the production offered them to take part in co-production.
On the occasion of the film’s release in theaters, the school organized a meeting with several of its alumni, including Matthieu RUBIN, the film’s production manager.
ESRA also trained Pierre Morel, director of the successful film “Taken,” and Yves Darrondeau, known for “March of the Penguins,” which won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature.
