The Republican Deputy Eric Ciotti spoke again this Monday about the exhibition park project and the creation of a commercial zone to replace the MIN (Marchรฉ dโIntรฉrรชt National) to express the position of the Departmental Council (since last Friday, he is no longer the president, although for the moment, at least, it seems like he still isโฆ).
A sensitive subject that divides the two main political actors in the department, another episode in a saga that shows no sign of ending.
During a press conference organized this Monday morning at the Departmental Council, Eric Ciotti insisted on expressing his support for the project to create a new exhibition park in place of the current MIN (which is set to move to La Gaude). โIf it were up to us, the work would have already started,โ claims the former president of the Departmental Council.
The problem is that different information is circulating regarding the size of the future commercial area to be constructed jointly. On one side, the Metropolis, presided over by Christian Estrosi, approved the Strategic and Operational Project (PSO) during the Board of Directors of the EPA (public planning institution). It indicated the creation of a commercial zone of 35,000 to 40,000 mยฒ.
However, this version was denied by Christian Estrosi during a conference last Thursday, where he referred to local shops and showed a letter from Prefect Leclerc recommending an extension of the commercial area by 10,000 mยฒ. On that occasion, the president of the Metropolis expressed his consent to this hypothesis.
In any case, this does not diminish Eric Ciottiโs polemic spirit as he maintains his position: โIt only takes a click on the city hallโs website to see the true state of the project.โ
In the competition between the two to see who is the closer to the facts, he makes a statement belonging to the category: โMost small shops in the city center would not be able to withstand such a project.โ
Last Thursday, Christian Estrosi said more or less the same thing!
Similarly, Christian Estrosi accused the departmental council of being responsible for the two-year delay in relocating the MIN to La Gaude.
โThe departmental council is not to blame. Everything is ready on our side, the work can start tomorrow,โ declared Eric Ciotti, sending the accusation back to the sender.
Who is telling the truth?
