Ethics in Questions in Nice

Latest News

Each year, the National Consultative Ethics Committee (CCNE) travels to a city in France to meet with health professionals, users, and the public in order to discuss ethical issues. This year, the CCNE, chaired by Professor A. GRIMFELD, accepted the invitation of the Espace ร‰thique Azurรฉen (EEA), chaired by Professor D. GRIMAUD.

Target Audience

This regional meeting day is open to health professionals working in institutions or in private practice, medical students, nursing school students, students from various disciplines at the University of Nice, legal professionals, users, and anyone interested in ethical issues.
This event, which is entirely free of charge, can be covered under continuing professional education for travel expenses (certificates issued on-site).
Approximately 500 people are expected to attend today.

Objective

The regional day has a dual objective, both educational and informative: it aims to review the current events in bioethics and major themes in ethics.

At the beginning of the morning, CCNE members will summarize their meeting with the active sectors in ethics at the CHU of Nice. Then, Professor Ali BENMAKHLOUF, philosopher and member of the CCNE and EEA, will answer the question: “What does it mean to give an opinion in bioethics?”

Finally, Dr. Jean LEONETTI, Deputy Mayor of Antibes and rapporteur of the parliamentary information mission on the revision of bioethics laws, will present “An Update on the New Bioethics Law.”

These two morning conferences will be followed in the afternoon by conference-debates on the general theme of “Inequalities in Access to Healthcare,” under a genetic, medical, and legal perspective, integrated into their national and international context.
