In the context of a working meeting, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, validated and signed the implementation strategy for the European Recovery Plan (REACT EU) in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, making our region the first in France to be able to launch calls for projects on European Funds!
117 million euros to be utilized by 2023 have been made available to regional territorial stakeholders to fund projects on ecological and digital transition, SME working capital, and health policy. Initial calls for projects, launched in March, to fund soft mobility projects and the development of digital infrastructure in municipalities, will be followed by calls in May for digitalization in middle and high schools and support for regional SMEs.
Ministers Gourault and Beaune, along with Commissioner Ferreira, also confirmed that the Summit of European Cities and Regions will be held in the Southern region in Marseille in early 2022 under the French Presidency of the European Union, a flagship event of the Presidency that will bring together over 15,000 local elected officials from across Europe.
