Latest News

A conference-debate on Health in Europe with the theme “What Europe is doing to protect your health” will take place this Thursday, February 25, 2016, at 6:30 PM at the Theatre of Photography and Image (Bd Carabacel).

What is Europe doing to control endocrine disruptors, chemical substances that can interfere with the functioning of our endocrine system and induce harmful effects on our bodies or those of our descendants? What about the use of antibiotics to which we are becoming resistant and how can we address this risk? How can we better understand vaccination?

In 2014, the European Parliament approved stricter monitoring and certification procedures to ensure the safety and traceability of medical devices like breast implants or hip prostheses. What is the state of this regulation today? On this matter as well as on pharmaceutical issues, how can we reconcile patients’ demands for information with the industry’s push for fewer procedures? Does innovation truly benefit everyone?

These and many other questions can be directly asked to the speakers at this debate.
