After their convincing victory against Lyon in a highly charged atmosphere, OGC Nice will be traveling this Wednesday, February 5th, to Auguste-Delaune to face Stade de Reims.
Both teams are tied in the standings (7th and 8th with 32 points), but Reims is ahead of Nice on goal difference (+6 against +2). Thus, this match could allow one of the teams, in case of victory, to get closer to the European contenders and thereby put pressure on their rivals.
In the first leg, the Gym benefitted from the early dismissal of Reims midfielder Moussa Doumbia to win 2-0 thanks to goals from Cyprien and Hérelle.
However, Nice struggles away from home and has not won since September 1, 2019, when they traveled to Rennes.
Moreover, the Gym will have to face one of the revelations of this championship. Indeed, Reims has been firmly positioned in the top half of the standings for a long time and can boast victories against some very good teams in our championship (Paris SG, Olympique de Marseille, Lille OSC, Stade Rennais, Montpellier, Saint-Etienne).
For this match, Patrick Vieira will have the whole squad at his disposal except for Wylan Cyprien, who has a thigh injury, and Youcef Atal, who will not return before March at the earliest.
The match will be broadcast starting at 7 PM on beIN Sports.
