European Elections: The Republicans at a Rally in Le Cannet

Latest News

There was a distinguished crowd last night at the La Palestre hall, where Michèle Tabarot, departmental secretary of Les Républicains, welcomed the president of the movement, Laurent Wauquiez, and the head of the LR list for the European elections, François-Xavier Bellamy.

They were accompanied by Jean Leonetti, mayor of Antibes and vice-president of Les Républicains, the president of the Federation, Eric Ciotti, and Bernard Asso, a candidate (15th position) on the LR list.

This major departmental meeting is part of a campaign that intends to be particularly active in the department.

François-Xavier Bellamy had the advantage of preaching to the converted, and he laid out his campaign arguments with a strongly nationalist tone: “Europe is primarily a story, a heritage, a momentum, a civilization to pass on.”

The head of the LR list also reiterated his commitment to Europe but to “a Europe that protects its borders and its businesses.”

During the day, the LR candidate had met with entrepreneurs from Sophia Antipolis. It was an opportunity to discuss projects related in particular to artificial intelligence and to reaffirm the commitment to European public investment in research and innovation.

He then visited the construction site of the new university campus in Cannes.
