Latest News

This weekend, the European Heritage Days took place. The 2016 edition had the theme “heritage and citizenship”.

The museums in Nice were highlighted for two days. As is tradition, all the museums had the great pleasure of opening their doors for free. Special exhibitions were featured. Tourists and locals were there for the occasion.

Two days where art and culture were put in the spotlight. On the agenda: guided tours, flash visits, and current exhibitions.

The MAMAC museum hosted the exceptional exhibition of Ernest Pignon Ernest. The festivities started at 3 PM. Art students were able to conduct activities and presented a play. A televised biography on the life of the famous Nice artist was also offered to visitors.

On the other side, the Allianz Riviera offered the opportunity to discover the backstage of the stadium, as well as the chance to visit the “Goal! European Rendez-vous” galleries offered by the National Sports Museum, for Euro 2016.
Various activities which delighted more than one.

The museum also showcased the works created by students from CE2 to CM2 as part of the “Euro 2016 in Schools” competition. The children let their imagination run free, creating all types of artistic works. This highly symbolic venue thus celebrated the work of the children and teachers from the city of Nice and displayed all the works dedicated to the “sports theme in France.”

The Heritage Day aims “to show children things they are not used to visiting, and it also allows adults to rediscover the permanent exhibitions of certain museums. It’s also an opportunity to showcase Nice’s culture and local artists.”
