At the close of the European Mobility Week and as part of the Associations Meeting, Nice Côte d’Azur has decided to highlight its Autobleue and Vélobleu systems. These new means of transportation represent, among others, the vectors of implementing a real sustainable mobility policy.
Teams will be mobilized and will animate the Europe square, located at the entrance of the Exhibition Palace, to introduce these environmentally friendly modes of transport to those who are not yet familiar with them.
Free trials and information will be offered from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2012.
The Success of Vélobleu
Today, the Vélobleu service has nearly 12,000 subscribers, 80% of whom subscribe annually. Since its launch, the number of rentals has risen to more than 2,000,000, with an average of 2,300 rentals recorded per day over the year. In total, 1,750 Vélobleu bikes are available and distributed across 175 stations in the municipalities of Nice, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, and Cagnes-sur-Mer.
Autobleue, a First in France
In order to meet individual travel needs provided by cars while preserving the environment, Autobleue was launched on April 9, 2011.
The NCA Metropolis was the first community in France to offer a car-sharing service based on electric vehicles on the scale of a large agglomeration. Today, the service is deployed across 42 stations, and 126 vehicles are available 24/7 in 7 municipalities of the Metropolis.
Nearly 3,200 inhabitants of Nice Côte d’Azur have already chosen this mode of transport.
