As part of the commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, a large collection initiative is being launched by Europeana (the European digital library).
It invites individuals to digitize and share the largest possible number of family archives related to the Great War.
With 50 partner institutions in France, the Departmental Archives of the Alpes-Maritimes are participating in the operation.
On Wednesday, November 13 and Friday, November 15, individuals who wish to are invited to come with their archives concerning the period 1914-1918 (war diaries, letters, photographs, postcards, etc.).
Equipment and archivists will be at their disposal for digitization.
