For its 12th edition, the Europétanque becomes the Europétanque Conseil général 06. The Department has chosen to engage even more strongly at the heart of this major event and this sport in general, which is a bearer of the Mediterranean culture.
This internationally renowned pétanque event, at the heart of Nice, will take place from July 20 to 22, 2013, on the Promenade des Anglais and on the esplanade of Tassigny. Throughout these three days, the main competition, the Malatesta competition, a women’s competition, a youth competition, as well as a precision shooting competition on Sunday will be held.
A New Impetus for the Competition Supported by 3 Pétanque Prodigies
Philippe Quintais, Philippe Suchaud, and Henri Lacroix, former members of DUC de Nice – a club for which they have won numerous titles – are today renowned sportsmen with one of the most impressive records in French sports: Multiple world champions, titleholders, quadruple winners of national and international competitions. They will be present today for the official opening of the registration for a competition they have won many times before. On a temporary pétanque field set up on the forecourt of the Conseil général, the three champions will demonstrate their talent.
There is no doubt that the 512 triples will quickly find a place for a mix of professionals and amateurs who will come together for a game, which is also the charm of the Europétanque that, over the years, has established itself as one of the major dates in the world of pétanque.
