This Wednesday marked the beginning of European Mobility Week, an opportunity to raise awareness among citizens about choosing more environmentally friendly modes of transport.
As part of its GREEN Deal policy, the Department is pursuing several sustainable mobility projects such as intermodality, carpooling, and clean transportation, including the cycling network.
It is specifically the bicycle that the Department wants to highlight throughout this week. Indeed, the bicycle stands out as the preferred mode of transport in the post-lockdown period: it serves as an excellent barrier measure by ensuring physical distancing, allows for regular physical activity, and improves air quality.
