“This” week, the association “Tous avec Hugo” is organizing the second birthday of little Hugo. To accomplish this, numerous events are going to take place. The first one occurred on Monday evening, at the Malatesta gymnasium in Nice.
A basketball game between the girls of CTBB and some stars was the main event of the first celebration for little Hugo’s second birthday. But the true star of the evening was undoubtedly him. Numerous people who came to watch the game were justified in their attendance. It was crucial not to arrive late as finding a seat quickly became a challenge.
The event was a resounding success and the many VIPs present, of course, played a significant role. Eric Abidal, Eric Bauthรฉac, Romain Genevois, Jรฉrรฉmy Pied… They were all there to support little Hugo and his courageous parents, Virginie and Fabien, in their ongoing battle.
Hugo’s father, Fabien, recognizes the importance of having so many stars to draw a crowd. He states, “The great thing is that we never get a refusal when we ask them to come. The goal is to gather as much money as possible to continue the research.”
With a full house, the goal was achieved. Christian Estrosi, deputy mayor of the city, and Jean-Pierre Rivรจre, president of OGC Nice, were also present on this Monday evening. Two organizations that Virginie, Hugo’s mom, did not forget to thank: “We truly wanted to thank everyone. All those who have been with us from the beginning and all who came tonight. Whether it’s the CTBB players, the city of Nice, the OGC Nice club… Everyone puts their heart into it. Celebrating Hugo’s second birthday today is a victory.”
Speaking of heart, the CTBB players made a wonderful gesture. Even though they were on the court, they all paid for their tickets as if they were in the stands. A gesture that demonstrates the solidarity that surrounds the association.
Josรฉ Cobos, one of the sponsors of the association, explains why he became involved in this project: “The parents approached me and explained the situation. As a father myself, I was touched because I can imagine the parents’ suffering. We ended up organizing events, and today I thank everyone for their support. Even though it is a serious illness, we must have good times, and tonight is a fantastic event.”
From this event, it will be remembered that Hugo gave the ceremonial kick-off of the match. The VIPs matched the occasion. Laurent Barat scored a three-pointer for the first basket, and Eric Abidal was impressive defensively. Everyone played their part perfectly; the venue was packed… The best possible gifts for Hugo. And his parents.
