The Vélobleu system has reached a new milestone by surpassing the record number of 2,500,000 rentals since its launch. Vélobleu is now an integral part of the daily life of the residents of the French Riviera and tourists.
Launched on July 18, 2009, the system has been experiencing exponential success. While approaching one million rentals in 2012, the milestone of 2,500,000 rentals was surpassed on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. More than 160,000 people have used the service since its launch, and nearly 8,000 people have subscribed annually.
Today, the network includes 175 stations equipped with 1,750 bikes and 3,105 docking stations available to the public.
The most frequented stations are located by the sea, notably Quai des Etats-Unis and at the lower end of the Promenade des Anglais.
