The cities of Nice and Saint Petersburg have been linked by a Friendship Pact since 1997.

In this context, Nice has been hosting the Saint Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra “Klassika” since 2013, offering one or two free performances to the public of Nice each year.

The Saint Petersburg Symphony Orchestra was established in 1992. It is composed of 70 musicians who graduated from the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory or are winners of various international competitions. The repertoire of the “Klassika” Orchestra consists of works from the classical heritage of Saint Petersburg, such as Borodin, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Glazunov, Liadov, Stravinsky, as well as works by foreign composers, from Mozart to Mahler. This year, the “Klassika” Orchestra will be represented by 23 musicians on stage.
