Special screening of the art film: *Voluptas Dolendi – The Gestures of Caravaggio* from the namesake show by Mara Galassi and Deda Cristina Colonna. Directed by Francesco Vitali. In the presence of dancer Deda Cristina Colonna.
The Association of Friends of the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat, in partnership with the Fondazione Marco Fodella, organized this event to benefit the restoration policy of the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild museum.
-This film, inspired by the artistic message of the great master,
represents an original synthesis of different arts (music,
dance, recitation). Using period music, costumes, and texts,
this work demonstrates how Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio
still profoundly influences contemporary artists.
The film’s creation was under the patronage of the
Italian Ministry of Culture and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
with the patronage and support of the City of Milan.
Fondazione Cariplo and Intesa Sanpaolo contributed to the Fondazione Fodella’s project.
