The volunteers from the association “Exploits Without Borders,” led by Noรซl Smara, placed 86 pebbles last July in memory of the victims of the Promenade des Anglais attack at the summit of Stock Kangri, at an altitude of 6,153 meters. They are preparing to do it again.
Committed to encouraging solidarity and emancipatory initiatives undertaken by the people of Nice, Christian Estrosi has chosen this year to support the association “Exploit Without Borders” in a new challenge. The City of Nice has thus granted a subsidy to the association, to purchase sports equipment, which was officially handed over to the hikers this Friday.
This year, Exploits Without Borders has chosen to take a group of young people, including three with disabilities, to the Himalayas for a 35-day journey, aiming to climb the Chamser Kangri (6,622 m) and Stok Kangri (6,153 m) mountains and to deliver school supplies to the isolated village of Dah, in the Kashmir region.
The association regularly organizes sports activities, involving disabled individuals, people in social difficulties, or young people motivated by unusual, fun, and useful experiences.
As a reminder, in July 2017, an expedition in the Himalayas was organized by a team that climbed the Stok Kangri with 86 pebbles painted in the colors of the French flag in tribute to the victims of the July 14 attack.
