Sospel, the southernmost commune of the Mercantour National Park, and the Park are organizing the Explor’Nature event until Sunday.
Sospel has been part of the Mercantour National Park since its creation in 1979 and reaffirmed its historical commitment to the Park in 2013 through its membership. While the biodiversity of the area is well-known, there are still many unexplored areas to discover!
Centered around naturalist inventories, activities and events will be organized to better understand the commune’s biodiversity and to (re)introduce it to the widest audience with the help of numerous scientists and park rangers.
Explor’nature is an event focused on enhancing knowledge of the species present in the communal territory, the playful discovery of biodiversity, and interaction with scientists.
Open to all, this event is planned over 3 days. About fifty scientific specialists in various species families and Park staff will thoroughly examine the territory in search of all species, no matter how small.
Indeed, while we are now familiar with large wildlife, there is still a need to catalog everything that is less visible or unseen, yet plays a fundamental role in ecosystems.
Throughout these three days of inventories, activities and events will be offered to the general public to better understand the world around us, providing an opportunity to meet, to discover or rediscover the incredible riches of nature.
