Under this agreement, the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer, which has initiated numerous efforts in favor of sustainable development and the preservation of its natural spaces, entrusts the General Council with the management of a portion of the municipal lands with a total area of 179,271 m². Thus, the Department commits, in agreement with the municipality, to take responsibility for the management, maintenance, and enhancement of these plots.
Let us recall that the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes implements a policy for the management of sensitive natural areas aimed at protecting natural heritage, in harmony with a high public attendance. The green framework gradually established, starting in 1960, along the urbanized coast currently offers an area of approximately 3,500 hectares spread over 15 sites.
