Extension work at Victor Dury College

Latest News

The reconstruction of Victor Duruy College is one of the major projects undertaken by the Department in the field of education. This large-scale operation aims to eliminate the metal-framed section and build a gymnasium, while renovating the preserved building.

The operation involves demolishing the metal-framed building, restructuring, and extending the preserved building to accommodate 700 students and to create a gymnasium equipped with a climbing wall.

To achieve this, the construction plan includes building the gymnasium in place of the demolished metal-framed building. At the same time, the preserved building will take over the functions of the demolished building, thanks to extensions on both its south and north wings.

The south wing was completed in March 2017. The extension of the north wing started subsequently, with completion scheduled for February 2018. Asbestos removal and demolition have been completed, and major construction work is currently underway.

By the start of the school year in September 2019, students and staff at the college will be able to enjoy a superb, fully renovated facility.
