In 1854, a cholera epidemic broke out in the city of Nice. Canon BARRAJA then placed a statue of Our Lady of Good Help on Malonat Street, and the kindness of the Virgin, answering everyone’s fervent prayers, caused the epidemic to disappear within a few days. In gratitude for this blessing, Canon BARRAJA and the entire neighborhood promised to venerate Our Lady of Malonat every year.
