Federal 1: A high-level pool for Rugby Nice Côte d’Azur

Latest News

Saint Etienne, Bourg en Bresse, Castanet, Montauban, Nice, Romans, Châteaurenard, La Seyne sur Mer, Stade Phocéen, Nîmes, or Chambéry (Call currently underway for Nîmes, which is currently in F2): pool 2 of the Federal 1 championship will be anything but a walk in the park for Rugby Nice Côte d’Azur, who will have to deal with some of the heavyweights of French rugby such as Montauban, Bourg en Bresse, or their neighbors from La Seyne sur Mer.

With the group stage set to begin on September 25th and conclude on April 15, 2012, this new sporting year in Federal 1 will not be a quiet one for a Nice club waiting for a possible takeover by local investors.

But, while waiting for the much-discussed takeover plan, expected to be revealed during the course of next week, the focus should be on building the upcoming season to face these powerhouses that would surely be delighted to triumph on Nice’s home soil.

Some departures and few arrivals – nothing particularly exciting to note for now for the Arboras side, even though the composition of the technical staff, expected to feature some changes from previous seasons, should be unveiled shortly.

In short, nothing is certain right before a potentially very busy vacation period for the team or the potential investors who will need both the courage and energy to invest as much financially as physically, to achieve a try that seems very close…
