For the 5th consecutive year, the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the Alpes-Maritimes (CDOS 06), through the Sport Health โ Sports for All division, is organizing the event FEEL SPORT.
This national event, labeled by the CNOSF, provides an opportunity to encourage people of all ages, both able-bodied and with disabilities, to engage in physical and sports activities.
The President of CDOS 06 states, “This concept invented by the CNOSF is a real bet on the future. We will have to change the mindset of the French to get them to practice sports among young people, in the business world, or more generally among adults and seniors. Daily sports practice helps combat sedentarity, enhances lifespan, and prevents health risks.”
This year, the departmental Olympic and sports committee of the Alpes-Maritimes has decided to renew the City of Cagnes-sur-Mer, following the success of the 2013 edition, as the host city for the event.
It is at the CROS Shelter Port in CAGNES, this Sunday, September 21, from 10 am to 5 pm, that “Feel Sport” will take place in a suitable site and a friendly environment.
Throughout the day, children, adults, and seniors can try and practice sports activities for free, according to each person’s level.
Beyond these workshops supervised by professionals, several areas will be dedicated to health to explain the many benefits of regular physical activity.
Dr. Jean Christophe CORRADI, President of the Medical Commission of CDOS 06, will run a “Sport and Pregnancy” stand, alongside a doctor, midwife, and physiotherapist, on the importance for women to engage in suitable physical activity during the perinatal period. Information and activities are planned throughout the day.
For the first time, land and water sports activities will be combined, with the highlight being an open-to-all activity on a 15-meter educational and social sailing boat, offered by the Departmental Sailing Committee and the association “Rose of Jericho.” Departures will take place every hour.
Nearly thirty departmental committees, clubs, and associations offer a wide variety of sports and information.
To celebrate sport for better mental and physical wellbeing, and to preserve health, is the message Philippe MANASSERO, President of the Alpes-Maritimes CDOS, and Pierre MAIRE, Vice-President in charge of the Sport Health โ Sports for All division, want to convey through this free event accessible to all.
With more than 5,000 events organized throughout France, nearly 6 million expected visitors, and Tony Parker as a prominent witness, the “Feel Sport” concept will give the general public the desire to discover and try a multitude of activities for free. CDOS 06 is fully prepared and ready to welcome thousands of sports enthusiasts at the Port Shelter site of Cros in Cagnes sur Mer.
The proposed activities: Athletics, Badminton, Boules, Country Dance, EPMM, EPGV, Fencing, FSGT, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Gym โ Dance โ Qi Gong, Disabled Sports, Field Hockey, Nordic Walking, Raqball, Rural Sports, Table Tennis, Trampoline, Laser Shooting, Sailing Rotations, Paddle Rowing.
