The airline Air France provides its passengers with the “Ready to Fly” application, a service for checking documents before traveling.

Starting July 17, the application will be functional for flights departing from Paris to Corsica and Overseas destinations. It will be gradually rolled out over the summer to other destinations. It is important to note that the service is free and optional.

How does it work?

A few days before departure, passengers are asked to submit their health-related documents via an online platform. They are then checked, and if they comply, a validation message is sent to the client. In case of an incomplete file, the passenger is invited to provide the missing documents or present them on the day of departure at the airport. “The issued boarding passes will then bear the mention ‘Ready to Fly’, allowing quick processing by Air France teams at the airport on the day of travel.”

A response to unexpected checks at the airport?

Besides ensuring possession of all required health documents, the “Ready to Fly” application aims to prevent its users from undergoing successive and sometimes bothersome checks at the airport. Consequently, the journey becomes less arduous and more “smooth”.
