Cinealma is joining forces with the initiative of the association Aide sans Fin ni Faim! This association aims to combat famine worldwide. Like all the films screened, this initiative fights against a scourge.
The Association Aide Sans Fin Ni Faim
In April 2003, Marie-Gillette and her sister Jacqueline, after spending a vacation in Reunion, their birthplace, went to Madagascar, which they did not know. As soon as they got off the plane, they were met with a grim picture of poverty. The closer they got to the capital, Antananarivo, the more striking the poverty became. The two sisters stayed for a week observing the lives of the Malagasy people. They were moved by the women and children sleeping on the ground without eating. They decided to take action.
For three consecutive years, they set out to help the impoverished on the streets of the cities they visited.
In September 2005, during the association festival in the town of Carros, where Marie-Gillette has lived for over twenty years, she decided to create an association. Her friend Laurence decided to join and support her. In January 2006, the Municipal Council of Carros granted her an exceptional subsidy. At their own expense and during their annual leave, they went to Madagascar to provide essentials (food). That’s how the association Aide Sans Fin Ni Faim was born in Carros.
In July 2006, Laurence and M-Gillette traveled to Madagascar to build a school canteen in Antsiranana (Diego Suarez).
In 2007, they met Rose de Lima (a woman with a big heart) who alone welcomed excluded women and children in a container. Laurence, Marie Gillette, and her sister Jacqueline decided to support this woman. Since then, the St. Vincent de Paul home has offered them a space, which they named (Foyer Ste Louise), where children come to have a daily meal, prepared by mothers…
Since then, the association has continued its efforts, managing to provide some villagers in MANAKARA with a school with a small dispensary. It has participated in drilling a borehole in the bush. It has been able to build small huts for mothers living alone with their children on the street and offer them meals.
