The CROSSOVER Festival will begin this Saturday, May 26, with the “Visiteurs du Soir” organized by BOTOX[S], an association of venues dedicated to contemporary art in Nice, who are organizing an “Art Journey” through the city.
This journey will culminate at the Chantier Sang Neuf / Former Slaughterhouses of Nice for the launch of the festival. An unusual evening in this currently unused site that is expected to eventually become a cultural space open to the public. A symbol for Crossover.
From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., the journey will feature artistic performances, with scheduled appointments in different areas, thus creating a circulation throughout the various neighborhoods of Nice. Galleries, alternative cultural venues, hotels, but also private spaces – apartments, artist workshops – for one day, the city will transform into a vast artistic stage.
With the aim of mixing audiences, Botox[s] and the CROSSOVER Festival jointly organize the closing evening of this Art Journey and the launch of the festival. This musical and artistic evening creates an event by highlighting the most contemporary creations while fostering an open dialogue between visitors, artists, and the venues of dissemination.
From 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., a sound and light scenography (vjing & video) will accompany live performances by Nathan Fake, the British prodigy of electronic music, who is about to release an album, Kenny Larkin, a techno pioneer from Detroit, Acid Square Dance, an acid duo with vintage instruments featuring the guitarist from the famous Pony Hoax, the wild and often psychedelic creature Mina May, Les Blondes & Demain Le Futur, two post-garage formations in orbit. With video projections by the Hรฉliotrope association and No Key Frame, as well as an artistic performance by BALT.
