Under the initiative of the webzine Alt_Riviera and the Pacinist collective, the Easter In The Sun festival aims to offer a groundbreaking and demanding musical line-up in Nice during the Easter weekend, whether it be folk, pop, noise, new wave, or electronic. It’s an opportunity to (re)discover the local scene and also to bring in musicians who aren’t accustomed to crossing the Var; and for the audience to discover new musicians or even new forms of music.
Always maintaining a human scale and resolutely Do It Yourself, the festival will take place for its third edition on April 14, 15, and 16, 2017, in Nice.
New this year, it will take over the chapel of the Providence Cultural Center for two consecutive evenings. Easter Sunday itself will be organized in a secret private location in partnership with Concert Chez Moi and Rachel et la Nostalgie du Futur.
Another novelty, the festival will be preceded by a launch event titled “Easter Is Coming” at La Zonmรฉ on Saturday, April 8. The program includes concerts in the evening, as well as a meeting with independent labels from the PACA region in the afternoon. Easter in the Sun continuously works in close collaboration with the local associative network. Consequently, Concert Chez Moi, la Semeuse, La Zonmรฉ, Rachel et la Nostalgie du Futur, Super Issue, VHS, and NoKeyFrame will partner with this event.
