Festival In&Out 2011: Closing and largely positive assessment for the LGBT film festival in Nice

Latest News

Over 3,000 LGBT and heterosexual spectators attended the films presented (a new record, surpassing last year’s performance, which saw 2,200 spectators). An exceptional effort by the 30 volunteers with a budget of 50,000 euros. Adding the cherry on top of this beautiful cake, there were no episodes of homophobia to disrupt the program, which speaks well of the city of Nice and its inhabitants.

Tired but satisfied, the artistic director of the event, Benoรฎt Arnulf, who is also the head of the association Les Ouvreurs that initiated the festival, shared his impressions during the final evening:

“Everything went well, and success is a word we can legitimately use at the end of this week of spectacle. The films selected met the expectations of our audience, and all the directors and actors we scheduled were present.

The number of spectators increased significantly compared to last year, so what more is there to say?

Now, after a few days of rest and relaxation, we will start thinking about the next edition. The success of this one obliges us to do even better next year.”

This is precisely what we wish for Les Ouvreurs, who, in just a few years, have achieved the incredible feat of integrating a delightful LGBT festival into the azure landscape, pleasing the many fans of the genre.
