The association “Les voix de Diane” offers numerous activities throughout the year centered around the voice and well-being through it (musical performances, singing and choir classes, voice yoga, etc.).
The return to the stage of “Femmes, le temps d’un chant,” this Saturday at 8:45 PM at the Théâtre de Verdure in Nice, will be an opportunity to present the public with a new version of the show in which they become one of the performers.
The idea to involve the audience in the musical interludes, allowing the soprano to completely change costumes, was born during the lockdown. Thus, for the first time in public, each interlude will feature a great song with lyrics displayed on the screen, enabling the audience to hum or sing along to these tunes, supported by the musicians: Toréador – Carmen, Woman in Love – Barbra Streisand, La Javanaise – Serge Gainsbourg, Hymne à l’amour – Édith Piaf, and Proud Mary – Tina Turner.
A new musical number has also replaced “Maybe This Time,” and it could only be the famous “New York, New York” by the great Liza Minnelli. This will accompany, in this shorter version of the show, other great voices such as Maria Callas (Habanera from Carmen), Barbra Streisand (Papa, Can You Hear Me from Yentl), Joséphine Baker (J’ai deux amours), Édith Piaf and Grace Jones (La Vie en Rose), and Tina Turner (Simply the Best). All these great voices will be interpreted by soprano Diane Frémaux (bio attached), who teaches singing and choral singing in Nice and also offers Voice Yoga sessions in the azure gardens (Vigier Park, Castle Hill, Pré de Levens).
She is accompanied by two musicians: Stéphane Eliot (Electone – Symphonic Organ) and Serge Gallice (Electric Guitar).
