The events of the Francophonie Games are happening at a rapid pace. The first medals have already adorned the athletes’ necks, and now it’s the artists’ turn to be rewarded. The literature contest opened the festivities last night. Today, several artistic competitions are coming to an end, featuring exciting finals and medal ceremonies.
Three artistic finals this evening!
The storytelling final took place at 4 PM at the National Theater of Nice. Among the participating delegations, five finalists were selected: Dorient Arnaud Kaly Soumbou (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Nidal Quannari (France), Stรฉphane Guertin (Canada), Franรงois Stรฉphane Alima Mbarga (Cameroon), Kiswinsida Ali Ouรฉdraogo (Burkina Faso). The first place in this storytelling competition went to Canada, the second to Cameroon, and the third to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The semi-finals and final of the hip-hop competition took place at the Thรฉรขtre de Verdure in a heated atmosphere. The “battles” raged between the remaining delegations: France, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, and Cameroon. The consolation final was between Cameroon and Gabon, with Gabon winning the bronze medal. The gold medal went to Congo Brazzaville in front of the French group, Pokemon Crew, who took the silver medal.
The final of the artistic song contest will take place tonight at 8:45 PM at the Nice Opera House, with the event being broadcast live on the entire Francophone TV network. Marc Toesca, a famous French radio and television presenter, will host the evening and present the five finalists: Valรฉrie Sadjik (Austria), Sae Lis (Lebanon), Holy Jah Doves (Rwanda), Jean-Jean Roosevelt (Haiti), Beni-Wende Marietou Ouedraogo (Burkina Faso). Mr. Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, President of the Metropolitan Nice Cรดte dโAzur, and President of the National Committee of the Francophonie Games, will present the medals to the happy winners on the Opera House stage.
Other cultural meetings continue
The giant puppets continue to wander around. They have become real attractions at Place Garibaldi, where the audience gathers in increasing numbers each day to discover or revisit them. The visual arts (photography, sculpture, painting) are still on display at Acropolis, along with ecological and digital creations.
The French delegation at the Villa Massรฉna
Mr. Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, President of the Metropolitan Nice Cรดte dโAzur, and President of the National Committee of the Francophonie Games, received the French delegation today at 7 PM at the Villa Massรฉna. The French athletes admired this architectural jewel on the Promenade des Anglais, a part of Nice’s history since the 19th century.
