From March 16 to 30, Espace Magnan hosts the 38th Italian Cinema Days. The list of films to be screened is finally available.
This year again, Espace Magnan invites you to discover many exclusive films and true gems of cinema. In total, 16 films have been selected, including 9 premieres in France, among which is one preview.
Additionally, a photographic exhibition of actor Pierfrancesco Favino and a lecture hosted by Lia Perrone will take place during these two weeks. Creative workshops and a workshop on Oenology and Tasting will delight both children and adults.
The Films on the Program
Among the highlights, the film “Ti mangio il cuore” by Pippo Mezzapesa, a captivating noir film, will open the event and will be the subject of an in-depth analysis during the Observatoire du Récit Criminel evening at the University of Côte d’Azur. Also, director Fabio Mollo will be present for his film “Nata per te” during an evening organized by the Consulate General of Italy in Nice.
This new edition will spotlight new talents with several promising first films, including the comedies “Il più bel secolo della mia vita” by Alessandro Bardani and “L’ultima volta che siamo stati bambini” by Claude Bisio, as well as “Grazie ragazzi” by Riccardo Milani.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to discover or rediscover films by renowned Italian directors such as Matteo Garrone with “Io Capitano“, or the latest film by Nino Moretti, “Il sole dell’avvenire“, and “Il Rapito” by Marco Bellocchio. In partnership with the Cinémathèque de Nice, a special screening in 35 mm of “Mio fratello è figlio unico” by Daniele Lucchetti will be organized.
You’ll have the chance to discover the work of emerging female directors such as Giulia Louise Steigerwalt with “Settembre“, Pilar Fogliati with “Romantiche“, and Marta Savina who will present “Primadonna“. In a preview, the film by director Laura Luchetti “La belle estate” will be screened to close this edition.
For the younger audience, a screening is scheduled: “Léo, la fabuleuse histoire de Léonard de Vinci“, an animated film in French by directors Jim Capobianco and Pierre-Luc Granjon.
Finally, you will also find actor Pierfrancesco Favino in his two latest films, “L’ultima notte di Amore” by Andrea Di Stefano and “Adagio” by Stefano Sollima, where he will be unrecognizable in their singular mafia atmospheres.
