First act takes place in the beautiful salons of the Ville Masséna during the 23rd edition of the Baie des Anges Prize, the highlight of the Nice Book Festival, which will be held on June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
The format of this prize deserves to be highlighted: the jury of “experts,” chaired by Franz-Olivier Giesbert, selects 8 novels published in the previous year, which are submitted for reading and voting by a public jury, chosen by the organizers based on spontaneous applications and an evaluation of the curriculum and motivation.
A system, perhaps not exclusive, but certainly original, where the professionalism of the jurors blends and merges with the spontaneity of the “amateurs.”
Eight novels were selected by the members of the jury, all present except for their president (!), and their selection was presented during a meeting of presentation and exchange between the two juries.
The winner will be announced on Monday, May 14, 2018. They will be awarded the Nice Baie des Anges prize by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, at the opening of the Book Festival.
