Latest News

For the past 6 years, the Diversity Trophies have recognized, on a national scale, the most innovative and successful companies in terms of diversity management and combating discrimination. This year, for the first time, awards were also given at the regional level.

The jury of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, composed of the organizers IMS-Entreprendre pour la Cité and Diversity Conseil, along with local stakeholders engaged in diversity (UPR/MEDEF PACA, DRJSCS, DIRECCTE PACA, Regional Council, Regional Delegation for Women’s Rights, Prefect Delegate for Equal Opportunities) commended the commitment of the following companies:

BNP Paribas Personal Finance – Customer Relationship Center (Marseille), Palais de la Méditerranée (Nice), Radisson Blu Hotel (Nice), Ambassade de Bretagne (Marseille).

Presentation of the winning companies from the French Riviera:

Palais de la Méditerranée (Nice) – Handicap Policy Winner

The Palais de la Méditerranée, a 5-star hotel based in Nice, launched a very proactive policy in favor of employing disabled people two years ago.

The approach of the Palais de la Méditerranée began with an assessment of the employment situation of disabled people within the establishment. Following this assessment, a large number of field actions were undertaken: participation in recruitment forums in partnership with AGEFIPH, adaptation of jobs and working conditions (e.g., funding of English training for a disabled person in reclassification, purchase of sit/stand chairs, hearing aids, etc.), collaboration with adapted and protected workshops, assistance to employees in establishing their dossier for recognition as a disabled worker, drafting of an internal Code of Good Conduct for employees and managers reiterating the Palais de la Méditerranée’s commitment to combating discrimination, a poster campaign in the premises saying “Here we are here and it’s normal,” creation of a “Handi-Welcoming Company” logo on all recruitment ads and on the Palais de la Méditerranée’s website since 2009.

The results? Despite a sector (hospitality) usually hostile to disabled workers due to the challenges of the professions within the sector, the Palais de la Méditerranée meets its requirement to employ 6% of disabled workers, which is still rare in luxury hospitality.

Hotel Radisson (Nice) – Global Diversity Policy Winner

The Radisson Blu Hotel in Nice has been actively engaging in an anti-discrimination and diversity policy for several years. To strengthen the existing dynamics, the Radisson signed the Diversity Charter in June 2010, and then embarked on a certification process with AFNOR: in December 2010, the Radisson Hotel became the first hotel in France to be awarded the Diversity Label.

As part of the labeling process, all the human resource management processes of the hotel were studied and revised to ensure equal treatment for all: recruitment, reception and integration, training, career management, individual appraisal, and remuneration.

A Diversity Committee and a Diversity Officer have also been appointed to ensure the follow-up of the actions implemented. To maintain long-term engagement, particular attention has been paid to raising awareness among employees on the subject: dissemination of a diversity code of ethics to all employees, information in the welcome booklet, provision of an alert phone number in case of perceived discrimination, implementation of e-learning training to educate all employees on non-discrimination.

And most recently, a very original project that allows all employees to embrace the topic: the creation of an internal film on diversity, involving all the hotel staff. This film, which will be updated according to the Radisson’s developments, allows each employee to identify with the hotel’s Diversity policy.

It is shown to every new entrant during the integration process.
